The William M. Bass Endowment was initiated in 1995 by a monetary gift from Dr. William M. Bass. The purpose of the endowment is to fund students and faculty within the Department of Anthropology in the pursuit of forensic anthropology research.
Since 2004, 34 different researchers have benefitted from the Bass Endowment totaling just under $100,000. These funds have assisted in covering costs of travel for data collection, the purchasing of equipment, and for reserving laboratory time for special equipment use.
