William M. Bass
Forensic Anthropology Building

On September 27, 2011, the new William M. Bass Forensic Anthropology Building was officially dedicated. Construction of the 5000 square foot building began in October 2010. This new building provides much needed space for the daily activities of the Forensic Anthropology Center. The Bass Building contains a large classroom, two offices, locker room facilities, and a state-of-the-art laboratory and intake room.

Dr. William Bass and his family initiated the building fund over 5 years ago. Jimmy and Dee Haslam generously donated over one million dollars towards the building fund. (Dee Haslam is pictured above with Dr. Bass in the center and Chancellor Jimmy Cheek to the right.) Without these funds, the building could not have been built. Donations are still appreciated.
